Privacy policy
Last updated:
Port & Dial (“Port & Dial,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Hong Kong-based private watch sourcing studio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal data when you visit our website, submit a sourcing request, correspond with us, or otherwise engage with our services. Providing personal data is generally voluntary, but we may be unable to assess or fulfil a request if information reasonably required for that purpose is not provided.
Information we collect. We may collect your name, email address, telephone or messaging details, country or location, and correspondence with us. A sourcing brief may include watch brands or references, photographs, budget range, preferred condition, timing, delivery destination, and other details you choose to provide. If a transaction proceeds, we may collect information reasonably required for payment, invoicing, identity verification, inspection, insurance, shipping, customs, and delivery. We may also receive technical information such as device and browser type, IP-derived location, referral source, pages viewed, timestamps, and cookie or similar identifiers where those technologies are enabled.
How we use personal data. We may use personal data to review and respond to sourcing requests; communicate about availability, pricing, condition, inspection, payment, shipping, and delivery; identify suitable watches through our sourcing network; administer transactions and business records; operate, secure, and improve our website and services; prevent fraud or misuse; comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We use personal data for direct marketing only where the required consent has been obtained, and you may opt out at any time.
Sharing and international handling. We do not sell or rent personal data. Where reasonably necessary for a request or transaction, we may share relevant information with categories of recipients such as independent dealers, collectors, marketplaces, inspection or authentication providers, payment and logistics providers, insurers, website hosting, form, email, and analytics providers, professional advisers, and public authorities. Because Port & Dial sources across Asia and serves collectors worldwide, personal data may be processed outside Hong Kong. We limit disclosures to information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose and take practicable steps to require service providers and recipients acting on our behalf to handle it appropriately.
Retention and security. We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including transaction, accounting, legal, and dispute-resolution requirements, after which it will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate. We take practicable administrative, technical, and physical steps to protect personal data against unauthorised or accidental access, processing, erasure, loss, or use. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Cookies, analytics, and third-party sites. Our website may use essential cookies and, where enabled, analytics or similar technologies to understand site use and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser or device settings, although disabling some technologies may affect site functionality. Our website may link to third-party websites or services whose privacy practices are independent of Port & Dial; you should review their policies before providing personal data.
Your choices, access, and correction. Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal data about you, request access to or correction of that data, withdraw a consent previously given, opt out of direct marketing, or ask us to stop using or erase data that is no longer required, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements. Submit a message through the Private Sourcing page and state “Privacy Request” so it can be directed appropriately. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We may update this Policy when our practices or legal obligations change; the date shown on this page indicates the latest revision.
